Jay was born on Sunday, July 16th, 1967 at 1:14 pm at Good Samaritan Hospital in Cincinnati, Ohio.
After formative years in western Cincinnati, Jay attended the University of Cincinnati from the fall of 1987 until graduating in June of 1991 with a Bachelor's of Science with Honors, in Computer Science.
Jay started his professional software engineering career with IBM in Research Triangle Park, North Carolina. He spent the next 5 years there developing networking products.
In July 1996, Jay transfered to IBM's plant in Austin, Texas. For the next 3 years, he developed network security products. He then transferred to Tivoli Systems, a wholy owned subsidiary. After 2 years at Tivoli Systems, Jay left the corporate world in August, 2001.
Jay spent the next 22 years as a freelance software contractor and entrepreneur.
The acting bug bit Jay in late 2013. Jay started getting extra roles in the spring of 2014. By the fall, the acting bug had hit in full, and pursuit of an acting career got started. In 2015 Jay started formal training, taking classes from Mona Lee Fultz at the BriteLites Acting Studio, followed by classes from Terry Kiser at the Actors Arena, then classes with Robert Walden.
All of Jay's acting coaches were trained in New York. Mona Lee is a graduate of Julliard. Terry Kiser and Robert Walden are members of the Actors Studio.
